Punjab police solves Phagwara blind murder case

PHAGWARA: In a major break through, Phagwara Police has succeeded in tracing a blind murder case of a minor villager boy Munish Kumar alias Money (13) of village Nasirabad, in just five days and arrested the killer cum rapist identified as Sarwan Singh of the same village. The accused has confessed his crime.



Phagwara DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh while confirming the development told newsmen here on Sunday evening that the deadbody of the deceased was found naked in a village pond on the night of May 19. DSP Khakh disclosed that police founded during its search, one Red Banian (Under Garment) of an adult man, one empty bottle of whisky, one red Parna and the clothes of the deceased child lying on a few distance of the naked deadbody.



DSP Khakh said that police smelt some foul play and suspected that the deceased child must was raped homosexually by the killer before his murder. DSP said that police registered a case under section 302/201-IPC against unknown accused and started its investigation.



DSP Khakh said that police started search in the village to know whether any villager was missing since the date of crime and made an announcement through loud speaker in the village and appealed to the villagers to inform police about any such missing villager. DSP Khakh told that police ultimately succeeded to know about missing person as Sarwan Singh @ Sahbi neighourer of the deceased was missing till date of crime, who was later nabbed by the police during different raids today. DSP Khakh told that the arrested accused Sahbi confessed his crime and disclosed before police during interrogation that Sarwan Singh @ Sahbi purchased a bottle of whisky from nearby village Narur and went to his village Nasirabad. Suddenly the deceased Money met him on a crossing and the accused Sahbi asked Money to purchase some cigrettes and gave him the required amount. The Killer admitted that he was under the influence of liquor heavily when the deceased child returned back and handedover the cigrettes to him. The Killer disclosed before police that he forcibly took the child to nearby fields and made homosexually relations with him forcibly. DSP Khakh said that the killer disclosed before police that the child raised alarm after rape and threatened him to tell the episode to the entire village and he(Killer) in the state of fear, strangled the child, dragged the deadbody and tied his both legs with his red banian and hanged the deadbody with a tree. The deadbody of the child soon fell down from the tree and was found from a ditch, said DSP.



The deadbody of the deceased child was handed over to his family members after conducting postmarterm examination in local civil hospital.The killer would be produced before Phagwara Judicial Magistrate on Monday, said DSP Khakh.
