STUDENTS EXHIBIT THEATRICAL SKILLS AT PAU YOUTH FEST

LUDHIANA, OCTOBER 24:-----



The Inter-College Youth Festival 2011-12, underway at PAU, witnessed competitions in skit, mono acting, mime, one-act play and mimicry. The students of the four constituent colleges of the varsity including College of Agriculture (COA), College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAE&T), College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (COBS&H) and College of Home Science (COHS) displayed their skills in one-act plays which included "Spartax," "Sarhadaan Hor Vi Ne," "Savi" and "Gathan Rukhan athe Kukhan Di."



Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest S. Gurpreet Singh Toor, SSP Barnala and PAU alumnus, said that to save youth from the clutches of drug addiction and other social evils, it is imperative to connect them with the cultural heritage. Youth, engaged in sports, social and other constructive activities, never become the victim of drug addiction. He said that campaign against the drug abuse cannot succeed unless the entire society is united. Lauding the efforts of PAU youth fest organizers, S. Toor paid rich tributes to theatre icon S. Gursharan Singh and exhorted the youth to follow his footsteps.



The PAU Director Students' Welfare Dr D.S. Cheema and Dean, College of Home Science-cum-Additional Director Communication Dr Neelam Grewal, honored the chief guest with a memento. Dr Cheema informed that the fest would conclude today in the evening.

Mimicry – First - Jasraman Singh Bedi (COA), Second – Navdeep Grewal (COBS&H) and Third – Pavittar Singh (COA)
