Creativity and Innovations will be the key to success for new generation entrepreneurs and even the successors of family run businesses will have to exhibit their innovative abilities to survive in the business. The coming century will be the age of idea generation and implementation which need speed , accuracy , quality to bring ease for human life. This will automatically remove shirkers and inefficient person from the workplace and innovators and creative persons will be at centre stage. These were the views of the experts who participated in two days workshop on "Entrepreneurship, Creativity and innovations" which concluded at Department of Commerce and Business Innovations at SCD Government College Ludhiana. The workshop was organized under the patronage of University Grants Commission for the benefit of M.Com (Business Innovations) students to sharpen their innovative skills and to make them self-sufficient and capable for employment world. The two days workshop which began on 12th November, 2011 concluded with the message that every one has to create job not for self but for others so that there can be 100% employment scenario in India by 2020. While speaking to the students Dr. Sukhdev Singh , professor and head at the department of Business Mnagement Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College Ludhiana said that there is lot of potential in our students and India should have the proud to have young and energetic population with zeal and commitment . The most important thing needed is proper direction and guidance. He highlighted the various stages of entrepreneurship with the live stories of successful entrepreneurs like Nandan Neelken, Aziz Premji, Jamshedji Tata, Rahul Bazaj, Dhirubhai Ambani and many others. Dr. S.K. Chadha Talked about the new radars of Innovations and gave the tips to the students to inculcate innovations in their skills to produce exceelent results. DR. Chadha said Panjab University is proud to start M.Com Business Innovations at SCD Government College Ludhiana which will definitely will prove landmark for others to follow. He express his satisfaction on the pedagogy and methodology of running the course and hope that students of this course will be proved as assets of our emerging economy. Dr. Ashwani Bhalla , Programme Coordinator of M.Com Business innovations stress on the creation of job opportunities by encouraging the youth to become entrepreneurs . He said that there is a need of collective efforts on the part of Financial Institutions like Punjab Financial Corporation (PFC), Banks, Department of Higher Education Government of Punjab, Department of Technical Education and Educational institutions to provide a platform to the students to prepare Business Proposals and help them by providing financial base to get success. Dr. Sandeep Vij, Deputy Dean of Lovely Professional University played various games with the students to make them more creative and innovative. He also gave the students the tips to prepare Business Proposals and highlighted how the students of Lovely Professional University are preparing business proposals and implementing them. He gave the example of implementation of starting of a venture of laundry business by the students in LPU and earning while learning. He urge the university to launch innovation centers in the colleges to prepare the students for next century.
