PAU SCIENTIST BAGS PRESIDENT OF INDIA’S AWARD

LUDHIANA, NOVEMBER 21:

Dr V.P. Sethi, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the "President of India's Award" by the Government of India. Dr Sethi has been awarded for his research paper entitled "Development of a modified screen net house using low cost technology," published in the Journal of the Institutions of Engineers (India). His paper was considered as the best research paper of the year 2010-11 in Agricultural Engineering Division at the national level. The award will be presented to him at 26th Indian Engineering Congress, to be held in Bangalore from December 16-18.



For the last fifteen years, Dr Sethi has been working in the area of greenhouse design, thermal modeling and micro-climatic control. He has developed many low cost, farmer-friendly greenhouse related technologies. He has publication of 30 research papers in international/national journals to his credit.



Dr P.P.S. Lubana, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and Dr V.K. Sehgal, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, congratulated Dr Sethi for bringing laurels to the university.
