The Punjab Agricultural University is continuing its tradition of organizing the two-day Chrysanthemum Show in the name of renowned Punjabi poet, Bhai Vir singh Ji. This year it is being organized on December 2 near the Flag Post of the University. Giving details, the Head, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping (DFL), Dr. Kushal Singh said that the show being organized jointly by the DFL and the Estate Organization of the University will be inaugurated on December 2 at 10.00 a.m. by Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU. Dr. Singh informed that more than 250 different varieties of chrysanthemum having varied colours, shapes and flower size will be put on display. Dr. Kushal Singh added that PAU has strengthened research on chrysanthemum varieties including hybrids and has raised 17 varieties for general cultivation in the state. The technical experts of PAU will be available to address the queries of the visitors regarding cultivation of flowers and ornamental plants.
