Raja, girlfriend booked over fight

MUMBAI: The Oshiwara police on Saturday produced actor Raja Chaudhary and his girlfriend, actress Shraddha Sharma, in court after the two were booked for allegedly causing nuisance by fighting in public on Friday.

The Oshiwara police, on receiving a complaint through the control room from residents of the neighbourhood where Sharma stays, rushed to her house and brought the matter under control.

According to cops, Chaudhary and Sharma were brought to the police station but were not ready to lodge a complaint against each other. They were also trying to taunt the police, it was alleged.

The police said Chaudhary went to Sharma\'s flat in a building at Oshiwara and had a scuffle with her. \"Sharma was injured and admitted to Sujoy Hospital. Both were arrested,\" said DCP (Zone VIII) K M M Prasanna.

The society informed the police about the altercation. \"A constable tried to intervene, but the two did not pay any heed and continued fighting on a road near the building. Chaudhary, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, and Sharma were booked under Section 160 of IPC,\" Oshiwara senior inspector D Rupwate said.

\"They were produced in court and released on paying a bail amount of Rs 5,000,\" he said.
