Jaspal Bhatti, the Punjabi comedian and satirist of Punjab, pointed out on Saturday that vulgarity is on the increase in comedy shows. He was in the city to conduct auditions for his Punjabi film, which is yet to be named.

"The channels should themselves follow the ethics on their own to stop this vulgarity," Bhatti said. The famous comedian, who runs his own acting school at Chandigarh, said, "I am planning to make a Punjabi film related to elections and the election atmosphere and hope to release it before the coming Vidhan Sabha elections. As far as artistes are concerned, some of them will be from my own acting school while others will be amateurs, who are talented although did not get training at any acting school."

Bhatti is yet to decide on the name of his film. He said that he would also visit Bhathinda and Amritsar for auditions.
