TRAINING COURSE FOR RURAL YOUTH AT PAU

LUDHIANA, NOVEMBER 25:----- The Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), will organize a three-month training course in integrated agriculture for young farmers of the state.

Giving this information, Dr M.S.Gill, Director, Extension Education, said the course would be conducted in Kairon Kisan Ghar of the PAU from January 3 to April 4, 2011. For young farmers of Gurdaspur and Amritsar districts similar course would be organized at Gurdaspur. The candidates from these districts should, therefore, contact the Regional Station, Gurdaspur or the Directorate of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana.

Dr Gill said that young farmers desirous of adopting farming as a profession would be provided with theoretical and practical training in different aspects of crop production and allied enterprises.

Matriculate farmers aged between 20 and 40 years could send their applications on performa available from the office of Director of Extension Education or from the Kairon Kisan Ghar latest by December 30, 2010.

The interview would be conducted on December 31, 2010 at 10.00 a.m. in Kairon Kisan Ghar, PAU, Ludhiana. The candidates should produce matriculation certificate and proof of their date of birth at the time of interview. The selected candidates would have to deposit Rs 500 as security on the spot which will be returned to them after completion of the course. The fees prescribed for the course is Rs 300/- only and for accommodation a fees of Rs 100/-per month would be charged.
