High Profile FAO Expert Team to Visit GADVASU

A high profile team lead by Dr. Leo Loth, Chief Technical Advisor on Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) Food & Agriculture Organisatio will be visiting GADVASU on 25th November, 2010. The team will comprise of Dr. David Castellan, Regional Veterinary Epidemiologist, FAO regional representative, Bangkok and Dr. M.V. Subha Rao National Project Consultant, FAO, India.Dr. PD Juyal Registrar, GADVASU informed that the visiting team will interact and make presentation in the area of emergency preparedness in Avian Influenza to the experts in the field of Veterinary Microbiology, Public Health, Pathology, Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine, Animal Genetics and Breeding and Biotechnology. The main purpose of the visit is to share the experiences, assess existing resources and explore collaboration in support of field training programmes for strengthening emergency preparedness for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza to India. The visit is further aimed to discuss and explore the linkages between the academic and field epidemiology based training programmes. The team will meet the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. V.K. Taneja, Deans & Directors of the University to explore the areas of collaboration.
