EMINENT COLD AND DRY CONDITIONS EXPECTED IN COMING DAYS

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 21:--



The weather expert of PAU has recorded a minimum temperature of 4.20C in the PAU observatory. Giving details, Associate Professor of Agrometeorology, Dr. P.K.Kingra said that average minimum temperature during the prevailing week (17.12.2010 to 21.12.2010) remained at 4.4.0C, which is less than the normal weekly minimum temperature (5.60C) by 1.20C. Comparing it with the weather records of 2009, she said that the minimum temperature for the same period was 5.70C.



The maximum temperature for the prevailing week was recorded at 19.70C, which is lower than the normal temperature (20.70C) by 10C and the previous years\' temperature (20.60C) by 0.90C, informed Dr. Kingra. Discussing about the implications of the prevailing conditions, she said that this lowering of day time as well as night time temperature as compared to the previous year and the normal value has resulted in severe cold wave conditions. Under the prevailing weather conditions, cold and dry weather is expected over Ludhiana and its adjoining areas, during next 3-4 days also.
