Car used in Ajmer blast seized by ATS

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Saturday claimed to have seized the car used in transporting explosives to Ajmer for the dargah blast which took place in October 11, 2007.

According to ATS officials, the explosives were brought to Ajmer from Indore by Harshad Solanki who is currently in the custody of Madhya Pradesh police in connection with the murder of Sunil Joshi, a key accused in the dargah blast case. Two more accused — Lokesh Sharma and Anand Raj Kataria — were also with Solanki when the bombs were being brought to Ajmer, claimed ATS.

The ATS also claimed to have identified five men who planted the bombs at the dargah. The five — Bhavesh, Divesh, Sunny, Mukesh and Mehul — allegedly came to Ajmer from Godhra via the Ahmedabad-Udaipur route. \"From Udaipur, they boarded a bus to Ajmer and met Harshad and Lokesh there. They planted the bomb and returned to Gujarat,\" said an ATS officer.

DIG, ATS, Anand Srivastava told TOI that the car, a black Hyundai Santro (MP-43 C0903) was registered in Kataria\'s name. \"Kataria was also arrested by MP police for Joshi\'s murder,\" said Srivastava. ATS officials said the car\'s recovery has further established the link between Ajmer and Hyderabad blasts.
