DR. KANG DESCRIBES THE PAINTING EXHIBITION AS ‘LIFE-LIKE’

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 22:



"The paintings are life-like. He has a special talent of depicting real life and people," expressed Dr Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, while inaugurating the three –day exhibition of paintings "Face to Face" by Hari Mohan at Dr M.S.Randhawa Art Gallery, organized by the Centre for Communication and International Linkages (CCIL), PAU.



Congratulating Hari Mohan for the great accomplishment, Dr Kang said that he was happy to note that the artist is a PAU employee and wished him success in his artistic endeavour. He is natural artist and his paintings are true to life.

Mr Mohan has displayed 28 portraits of renowned personalities, former Vice-Chancellors and other officials of the university. The portraits of the great artist Sobha Singh, former Chief Minister Partap Singh Kairon, former Vice-Chancellor Dr M.S. Randhawa and present Vice-Chancellor of PAU Dr M.S.Kang, were the main attraction of the exhibition.



Stating that he has been working as an artist in the university workshop since 1970, Mr Mohan said, "I observed every person very minutely and each painting took months to finish."



Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Additional Director for Communication, CCIL, remarked that the portraits depict the dedication and attachment of the artist with his subject and medium. He added that this is the ninth exhibition organized by CCIL to encourage the artists and promote their art work.



Those present on this occasion included Dr. S.S.Gosal, Director of Research, Dr PPS Lubana, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Dr Neelam Grewal, Dean, College of Home Science, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (COBS&H), Dr Yadvendra Singh, Dean, College of Agriculture, Dr P.K. Khanna, Coordinator of Research (COBS&H), Dr Gurkirpal Singh, PAU Estate Officer and faculty members of PAU. The exhibition will remain open to visitors during December 22-24 from 9.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
