VET. UNIVERSITY will welcome New Year with youth festival

Ludhiana- 23.12.2010.

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, GADVASU, Ludhiana is going to organise Youth Festival from Jan 01-08. After establishment of the University in year 2006, it is second Youth festival which is going to be held. While disseminating this information Dr. Kulbir Singh Sandhu Director Student welfare told that our students are doing well in different extra mural activities at all India Agricultural & Veterinary Inter University fests and they have won a number of prizes and trophies in these events. He said that we are organising this festival to polish and develop their talent and skill. It will be the spring board for students to achieve the new heights. Dr. Singh informed that to streamline all the functioning, committees have been formed and duties are allocated.

Dr. Darshan Singh Aulakh welfare officer and Organising Secretary of the Youth festival told that Sh. Ishwar Singh Commissioner of police Ludhiana. will inaugurate the main function of Youth festival on 06th of January. Rangoli, Clay Modelling, painting, quiz, cartooning, sketch, collage making, debate and poetic competitions will held from 01-05 Jan. On 6th spectators will witness musical events. Mime, one act play and shabad gayan competitions will be on7th . On the Concluding day on 8th Jan skit, mono acting and Giddha, Bhangra will be staged. Dr. Singh told that these co-curricular activities are an essential part of studentship so it is right of students to enjoy this flavour. He told that these festivals develop cordial relations in students where as help to build confidence in them.

Dr. P. N. Dwivedi president Dance drama and music club informed that whole fest will be conducted according to the notified rules of inter University competitions. The students are in Great Spirit and full of zeal to become the part of first ever youth festival. They are devoting their extra time to prepare their events to stage it in exclusive manner he added. Dr. Dwivedi hoped that this first Youth festival will leave healthy, cheerful and colourful impressions to all the participants and spectators.
