Several old proposals repeated in MCD budget

The MCD, which finalised its 2011-12 budget on Tuesday, presented several old proposals including those related to parking and use of mechanical sweepers for cleaning roads.



Among the recycled proposals were construction of women\'s toilets, gymnasiums in community centres and constructing road overbridges and underbridges, among others.



A number of these projects are being implemented at a snail\'s pace and being mentioned in the budget for the last three years.



MCD has been talking about constructing 21 multi-level parking lits in the city for the past several years but not a singe one has been ready yet.



Former mayor and Congress councilor Farhad Suri said that MCD is not being able to implement many of the proposals mentioned in its budget for many years.



\"I have been observing this for the past three years that same proposals are being repeated and most of them are not being implemented,\" he claimed.
