Award for Faculty of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, GADVASU at Mumbai

Dr Kirti Dua, Professor cum Head, Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine in College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, received the Fellowship from Indian Society of Veterinary Medicine for this contribution in the field of Veterinary Medicine. The award was bestowed at the 29th Annual Convention of Indian Society of Veterinary Medicine held at Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai.

In this conference Dr Dua also presented a lead paper on "Climate change impacts on animal risks in Asia". In addition to many refereed publications in journals he is the author of a text book on Veterinary Ethics and Jurisprudence. Eleven postgraduate students did MVSc and PhD under his supervision. Dr Naimi Chand, Asstt Professor in Veterinary Medicine received best oral presentation award on equine colic in this conference. The other authors in this paper were Dr S.K.Uppal, Dr C.S. Randhawa, Dr R.S. Singh, Dr Ashwani Kumar, Dr D.K.Gupta and Dr Kirti Dua. The research paper of Dr A.Q. Mir, Dr Ashique Hussain and Dr R.K.Bharadwaj who did their M VSc degree under the supervision of Dr B. K.Bansal, Dr S.K.Uppal and Dr C. S. Randhawa respectively also received best oral and poster presentation awards in different scientific sessions. Dr. S.K. Uppal was the chairman in the equine and pack animal medicine session and Dr B.K. Bansal acted as Judge in the best field veterinarian award presentation. Dr Rakesh Ranjan, Asstt Prof Veterinary Medicine is in the Editorial board of the Indian Journal of Veterinary Medicine published by ISVM.
