A drunk man entered the residence of Central Bureau of Investigation zonal director Mahesh Aggarwal in Sector 16 at 1.30am on Sunday and created a ruckus there.
The accused was identified as Har Mohinder Singh, who works as an assistant with the office of Haryana Advocate General. Sources said medical examination confirmed presence of alcohol in his bloodstream.
Sources said Aggarwal noticed that the Singh was sitting in a chair in his house in the night.The accused is a resident of Panjhokra Sahib in Ambala district.
Sources in police said Singh reached the house of CBI official in his car and was ot aware where he abandoned the vehicle before entering. Sources added that Singh was initially arrested under Section 109 (security for good behaviour from suspected persons) of Criminal Procedure Code and later, after a fresh complaint, booked under Section 451 (house trespass) of Indian Penal Code. Singh was released on regular bail from district courts, Sector 17, on Sunday. Sources in police said Har Gobind Singh should have been be booked under Section 456 (lurking in house) of IPC instead of under Section 451, which was a bailable offence. Cops also interrogated the accused.
