SCD Professor Awarded with Excellent Research Award-2011 during UGC International Conference

Dr. Ashwani Bhalla an Associate Professor in the Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Innovations SCD Government College Ludhiana and Executive Vice President of Punjab Commerce and Management Association , has been awarded with Excellent Research Award-2011 during a University Grants Commission sponsored International conference on "India in the Emerging order-A potential market for the world" which concluded yesterday at D.A.V College Malout. Dr. Bhalla has been awarded with this award for his excellent contribution to research in Commerce, Management and Business and promotion of education in this field. Dr. Bhalla has produced 20 research papers in indexed and accredited journals and edited four research monographs. The award is also his recognition for his research in the field of Housing Finance for which he was awarded PhD degree by Punjabi University Patiala. Dr. R.K. Uppal senior social scientist and Chairman of the Award Committee told that Dr. Bhalla is actively involved in the Faculty improvement drive in the state of Punjab and has organised many seminars/Conferences and Faculty development programmes to ensure quality teaching in commerce and management education in the region. He said that Dr. Bhalla has worked extensively for the improvement in the curriculum of the commerce and management programmes and guiding the educational institutions for the designing of the innovative programmes to be introduced for the benefit of students as well as industry. His contribution as a Member of the Post Graduate Board of studies in Commerce and Special invitee to the Under graduate board of studies in Commerce Panjab University Chandigarh for revision of B.Com/M.Com Courses has been well established. Recently UGC has approved the Innovative programme of M.Com Business Innovations designed by the Dr. Ashwani Bhalla and sanctioned a massive grant to SCD Government College Ludhiana. The Post Graduate Board of studies in Commerce Panjab University has also approved the M.Com Business innovations programme designed by him. He was also elected unanimously as the Secretary of Faculty of Business Management and Commerce Panjab University as unapposed. Principal of the SCD Government College Ludhiana Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar , Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, President of the Punjab Commerce and Management Association (PCMA), Dr. Prem Kumar, Executive Director of the Rayat and Bahra Group, Dr. B.B. Singla, Generel Secretary of the PCMA, Dr. Yogendra Verma, Officer on Sepecial Duty Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Kulbushan Chandel, Associate Professor Himachal Pradesh Universith Shimla , Dr. Raj Kumar vice President of the Himachal Pradesh Government College Teachers Association and many faculty members of the colleges and universities of the state of Punjab has congratulated Dr. Bhalla for his achievements.
