\'RAISE STANDARD OF LIVING THROUGH INNOVATIVE FARMING\' WILL BE THE THEME OF PAU KISAN MELAS PUNJAB AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY

'Raise standard of living through innovative farming' will be the theme of PAU Kisan Melas to be held in March, informed Dr MS Gill, Director of Extension Education. Giving an overview, Dr Gill said that PAU will hold a series of six Kisan Melas in March. The first mela will be held on March 8 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rauni (Patiala), followed by that at Faridkot on March 10, at Ballowal Saunkhri on March 11 and Bathinda on March 14. The Kisan Mela at PAU campus will take place on March 17-18, said he, adding that the last mela will be on March 22 at Gurdaspur. Dr. Gill said that at all these melas the technologies relevant to the theme will be showcased for the benefit of farmers and farm women. He has appealed to farmers and farm women to participate in these melas in large numbers and to learn the new innovations for a progressive farming.
