GADVASU Scientists’ Research Paper Bagged First Prize in National Symposium

Three scientists from the department of Animal Genetics & Breeding, GADVASU, Ludhiana participated in the VIII Annual Convention of Society for Conservation of Domestic Animal Biodiversity (SOCDAB) & National Symposium on "Animal Genetic Resources for Sustainable Livestock Sector in India" at Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar. The research paper entitled, "Exotic Inheritance, milk yield, body condition scores and some blood constituents in healthy and lame crossbred dairy cows" by C.S. Bahga, Simarjeet Kaur, C.S. Ahuja and M.L. Mehra, presented by Dr. Simarjeet Kaur, Asstt. Animal Geneticist was adjudged the best paper during poster presentation and the poster bagged the first prize and a cash prize of Rs 1000/-. Organizers of the symposium selected Dr. A.K. Jain, Sr. Animal Geneticist of the department of Animal Genetics & Breeding as Co-Chairman for a special technical session for Young Scientist Award. In another technical session on, "Evaluation and Utilization of Indigenous Animal Genetic Resources: Current Status and Future Strategies", Dr. M.L. Mehra, Sr. Animal Geneticist of the department of Animal Genetics & Breeding was made Co-Chairman.
