Dantewada massacre with CRPF ammunition?

Police suspect that the racketeers might have sold ammunition to Maoists who carried out the- Dantewada massacre on April 6. The victims included about two-dozen from Uttar Pradesh.

Among the arrested are three CRPF personnel and three policemen. The first arrest was made late on Thursday night in Basti district where police armourer Ram Kripal Chaubey had hidden ammunition inside flower pots, the TV set and almirahs, according to SSP (STF) Navneet Rana.

The ST F later arrested Yashodanandan Singh, a retired sub-inspector, along with Vinod Paswan and Vinesh Singh who were head constable armourers at the CRPF group centre in Rampur.

Nathi Ram, a constable armourer at the Ambedkar Police Academy Moradabad was arrested from Moradabad.

Additional Director General (Crime, Law & Order) Brij Lal, who also heads the ST F said, "We suspect they could be involved in selling these to Maoists or some large groups. But we are yet to confirm links with Maoists."
