Fake Indian Currency racket busted, 2 held with above Rs.3.00 lakh

Kishtwar Police achieved a major success by apprehending two fake currency network modules and recovered Rs. 3, 09,500/- form the possession of duo who were on way to Jawalpur –Bonjwah carrying the consignment in a Tata Sumo vehicle today.

The accused have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Keen s/o Aziz Mohd Keen r/o Bandwa,Bonjwah and Mohd Yousf Chowhan s/o Chiryan Chouhan r/o Mori ,Bonjwah .

Reports revealed that on a tip off, Kishtwar Police meticulously launched an operation headed by SHO of Police Station Kishtwar .After following a proper security drill two person who were on way to Jawalpur –Bonjwah travelling in a Tata Sumo bearing registration No. 3197-JK06 were intercepted by the Police party .During the personal search of the suspects an amount of Rs. 3, 09,500/- (Three lac nine thousand five hundred) fake Indian currency was recovered. An amount of Rs. 03.00 lac was recovered from the personal search of Manzoor Ahmed and an amount of Rs.9, 500/- was recovered from the personal search of Mohd Yousuf Chouhan . Out of this amount there are 209 notes of Rs.1000 denomination and 201 notes of Rs.500 denomination.

During the preliminary investigation, it has been learn that this is an organized group engaged in distribution of fake Indian Currency notes in J&K State .It is further learnt that they have links in valley and outside the state also Further investigation into the matter is going on and disclosures of the further details at this stage will be counter productive for the investigation of the case.
