The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed to lodge criminal case against the suppliers of low quality dal for the Mid Day meal. Further the Chief Minister has directed to take disciplinary action against the officer involved with the purchase of low quality Dal for the Mid Day Meal.
An estimated 1.17 crore children and pregnant women are the beneficiaries of the MDM and SNP scheme. It is the BJP who first turned the heat on the Government over the dal exposé and demanded criminal prosecution against the guilty including former Women and Child Development Minister Pramila Mallick, who was recently made to step down for her alleged role in the mess, district collectors and suppliers of the dal.
