Have grace to acknowledge central assistance: Tewari

LUDHIANA, July 17:

Ludhiana MP and the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari today asked the Akali-BJP government in the state to have grace and be grateful to the government of India for its liberal and generous support.

Addressing a public meeting as part of the mass mobilisation programme of the party organised by the District Congress Committee Ludhiana (urban) in Ward 10 falling in the Ludhiana East assembly segment, Tewari said, while the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was raising so much hue and cry in the state that centre was discriminating against Punjab, he did not mind going every other day to the Prime Minister continuously seeking grants for one thing or the other.

Tewari maintained that the days of the Akali-BJP alliance government in the state were over as their countdown had started. He said, at the most the Akali are there for another seven months in case the elections are not pre-poned.

Speaking on the occasion the DCC president Pawan Dewan said, while the Congress will form the government in Punjab, it will win all the seats in Ludhiana. He said, people were quite disillusioned with the government as it had failed them on all fronts.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included PPCC Secretary Sushil Malhotra, Umesh Sharma, Block President Kanwardeep Singh Pappi & Councillor Sanjay Talwar etc.
