LUDHIANA, JULY 20:--
PAU will organize its Kisan Melas at different places in Punjab in the month of September. The series of six Kisan Melas will start with that at Ballowal Saunkhri (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar), on September 8, followed by that at Faridkot on September 12, at Bathinda on September 15, at Rauni (Near Patiala) on September 19, at Ludhiana on September 22-23, and at Gurdaspur on September 27. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon has approved these dates of Kisan Melas. These melas will provide occasion to farmers to interact with experts, purchase seeds and planting material, learn about new techniques and recommendations in agriculture, farm mechanization, home science and allied agricultural ventures. As per directions from the Vice Chancellor, the farmers will be educated about how to discourage social evils, and to conserve environment and make surroundings clean and green, said the Director of Extension Education, Dr. M.S. Gill.
