ACADEMIC SESSION BEGINS AT SCD GOVERNMENT COLLEGE



Academic Session 2011-12 begins at SCD Government College Ludhiana with the assembly of students which was addressed by the Principal of the College Mrs Jasbir Kaur Makkar. Large Number of students participated in the Assembly in which they were apprised with the general rules regarding the classes, house examination, cultural and sports participation, University system, and Library usage, extra curricular activities like Youth Club, National Service Scheme (NSS), and National Cadet Corps (NCC). The students were also apprised regarding the rules for discipline and guided them to follow the academic behavior during their tenure of study. Principal of the College welcome the new students and told that from the academic session 2011-12 four new courses has been added in the academic environment of the college. These Courses are M.Com Business Innovations, B.B.A, MSc (IT) and B.A (Computer Science). Mrs. Makkar told that these new programmes will be able to meet the demands of the students as well as industry and provide opportunity to the students to study updated curriculum as per the requirements of the latest changes in the field of Academic World. Mrs. Makkar told that students of Ludhiana gave first priority to the SCD Government College Ludhiana comparing with other because of its glorious past, cultured academic discipline, rich alumni and congenial academic environment. She told that for every course the number of applications were almost five teams than the number of seats available in the college. In some of the courses like B.B.A, B.Com, M.Com, M.Com Business Innovations, M.SC IT, B.C.A the number of applicants were ten times the number of seats available. She revealed that in every course the cut off list in the SCD Government College Ludhiana was higher than the cut off of any other college in the city. This shows the preference of the students and parents towards SCD Government College Ludhiana. She congratulated the students for getting the admission in the highly prestigious college of the state of Punjab.
