Tewari says, Sukbir\'s announcements too little too late

LUDHIANA, July 23:



Ludhiana MP and National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari today said that the populist announcements made by the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal at Jallandhar on Friday was too little to late. He said people of Punjab were to aware to be fooled by the tempting promises of Sukhbir which have no scope of being executed.



Addressing a District Congress Committee Urban organized meeting here today at Arjun Dev Nagar, Ward-9, Tewari said, for last four and a half years the Akali-BJP government did nothing except for looting and robbing the state of all its resources. He pointed out this government resorted to loot of sand mining, liquor trade, transport, cable and everything they could lay their hand at.



The MP said, come what may the alliance was certain to bite the dust in the coming elections. He said, this government was surviving on the ventilator and the moment it is taken off it will cease to exist.



Speaking on the occasion the Ludhiana District Congress Committee (Urban) Pawan Dewan said, the Congress under the dynamic leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh had shaken the government and it was now trying to resort to desperate means announcing populist policies which it knew could never be implemented as it had no money.



Prominent among those present on the occasion included Distt Mahila Congress President Leena Taparia, Gurmail Pehalwan, Sushil Malhotra, Kanwardeep Pappi, Sanjay Sharma, Kamal Miglani, Umesh Sharma and others.
