LUDHIANA, July 24:
District Congress Committee President Ludhiana Urban Pawan Dewan today said that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was trying to show unrealistic dreams to the people of Punjab at the end of the term of his government.
Addressing a public meeting, as part of the party's mass mobilisation programme, in Bazigar Basti falling under Ward 45, Dewan said, wherever the Deputy Chief Minister goes he starts giving false hopes to the people. He said, however, the people of Punjab were too wise to get fooled and hoodwinked by false promises.
The DCC president asked the Deputy CM as why was he doing it now. "It is quite understandable that why Mr Sukhbir Badal has suddenly got up from his deep slumber", he remarked while pointing out, his interest is not in providing relief to the people but getting their votes in the elections.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Bajigar Cell Punjab Congress Committee Chairman Mohinder Pal Lalka, Block President Vinod Bathla, Satwinder Jawaddi, Achhru Ram, Davinder Singh Barewal and Navjot Singh etc.
