PAU AND NATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER FOR CITRUS

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and the National Research Center for Citrus (NRCC) at Nagpur have signed an accord for academic collaboration. The agreement was signed by Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor on behalf of PAU and Dr. V.J.Shivankar, Director, NRCC. Under the agreed programme, both the organizations will be involved in the Ph.D programme of students. The nature of research undertaken by the students will be related to citrus and the students will be allowed to utilize the facilities and infrastructure of NRCC. The student after completing the course work from PAU and undergoing the comprehensive examination at PAU may be favourably considered for research fellowship by NRCC. The work done in the project by the student may be utilized for submission of the thesis and the help received from NRCC will be properly acknowledged in the thesis as well as other outputs such as research paper, other publications, awards, patent emerging out of the research work, etc. that will be jointly shared. The degree will be awarded by the PAU. The Head, Department of Horticulture, Dr. Pushpinder Singh Aulakh said that this is the first agreement that the PAU has entered into with any National Research Center and added that the outcome would be mutually beneficial to PAU and NRCC.
