Punjab couple face ‘threat’, move HC

After several cases of honour killings being reported from Haryana, now a couple from Punjab are allegedly facing threat to life as they belong to the same village.







Bhawna and her husband Harpreet Kumar are allegedly being hounded by Bhawna's parents for eloping and tying the knot in 2009 against the consent of their families. The couple have a 10-month-old daughter.







The couple have approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court pleading for police protection. The court has issued notices to the Hoshiarpur SSP and parents of the girl.
