SAY NO TO DRUGS FOR A GOOD LIFE: DR. KANG

Addiction affects practically every area of drug abuser\'s life. Drugs make the person physically weak and run down. These interfere with education and put at risk job prospects besides resulting in emotional trouble. These expressions were made by Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU while addressing the Deans and Officers of the University in the function to release eight posters brought out jointly by United Nations office on Drugs and Crime and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Thematic pamphlets and CD on messages about curbing the drug menace were also distributed on the occasion amongst the Deans and Officers present for display in their respective Colleges and offices. Dr. Kang added that youth needs to be inspired and mobilized for leading a drug free life. The PAU always makes proactive and determined endeavours to sensitize students, faculty and farmers about the significance of leading a drug free life.



Dr. Sarabjeet Singh, Associate Professor of Journalism said that every year 26th of June is observed as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. He said that the released posters highlight the role the teachers, parents, individuals and social organizations can play to tackle this problem of drug abuse that is a great concern to humanity. The message will also be spread through literary organizations, he said.
