TWO PAU SCIENTISTS GIVEN WARM SEND OFF

LUDHIANA, MAY 7:



A warm send off was given to the two scientists of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) namely Dr D.S. Dhillon, Professor and former Head of Extension Education, and Dr Surjit Singh, Senior Extension Specialist (Agronomy), upon their superannuation.



The Vice-Chancellor of PAU, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, while extending his best wishes to Dr D.S. Dhillon for the post-retirement life, lauded his 34 years of enormous contribution to the academics, research and particularly, the extension education. "Dr Dhillon's meritorious service on two prestigious posts including the Director of Extension Education and the Head of Extension Education is indeed acknowledgeable and deserves all appreciation. He has played a vital role in the development of agri-education and teaching too," he added.



Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, while speaking during the farewell of Dr Dhillon, described him as a hardworking extension specialist who did his job with precision and dedication. About Dr Surjit Singh, Dr Gill said that he has been a dedicated extension worker and has made a significant contribution as an expert of Agronomy. Dr Gill wished both the scientists happy and joyous post-retirement life.



Dr Gursharan Singh, Dean, Postgraduate Studies, said that Dr Dhillon has been instrumental in developing course curricula and Resident Instruction Bulletin of the PAU.



Dr D.S. Dhillon said that his experience as the student and Professor of the PAU has been delightful. He thanked his colleagues for extending their cooperation during the need of the hour.



Dr Surjit Singh thanked the PAU for recognizing his services in transferring the farm technologies to the farmers, and his colleagues for their timely support.
