The Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering (FMPE) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has invited applications from the agricultural machinery manufacturers, I.T.I pass outs and educated village youth for the participation in two-week hands-on-training course on "Operation and Programming of Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machines," to be conducted from June 3 to 14, 2013.
Divulging details, Dr G.S. Manes, Head, FMPE, informed that a total of 20 participants will be short listed for the training programme. The fee for the programme will be Rs 2500/- per participant, he told, saying that the boarding and loading will be arranged at PAU as per the University norms and that the expenditure will be borne by the trainees themselves. The applications on plain paper stating particulars of the candidate will be entertained by the department. Dr Manes said that the training will be useful in enhancing the skills of the farm machinery manufacturers and in providing more employment opportunities, particularly, to the rural youth in production and manufacturing units. Besides, the trainees will be imparted training in EDM (electrical discharge machining) machine; CNC lathe, milling, and drilling; and other latest manufacturing technologies. The participants will be awarded certificates after the successful completion of the training.
