LUDHIANA, MAY 16:
An M.SC (Botany) student of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Khushmeet K. Bains has been selected for the prestigious "National Youth Award 2011-12," in recognition of her illustrious service in the field of education and for helping the poor slum children. She will be awarded a silver medal, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 40,000/- during the award giving ceremony, to be organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It is worth mentioning here that she is the only student from the Punjab state who has been selected for this national award.
Khushmeet Bains is also a recipient of Indira Gandhi NSS Award 2011, and Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh State Youth Award 2013. Dr S.K. Thind, Head, Department of Botany, and Dr Pushp Sharma, Major Advisor of Khushmeet Bains, congratulated her for this big achievement.
