FORMER PAU PROFESSOR AUTHORS A TEXTBOOK “GENE REGULATION”

LUDHIANA, MAY 10:



A former Professor of Genetics and presently, a Visiting Professor in the School of Agricultural Biotechnology (SAB) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Dr Gurbachan S. Miglani has authored a textbook "Gene Regulation" for senior undergraduate and postgraduate students. The book will be of immense benefit to the students studying molecular genetics in any discipline of life sciences in conventional, agricultural and medical universities/colleges/schools across the globe, he said. "Gene Regulation" deals with the fundamental molecular mechanisms of regulation of gene expression in viruses, bacteria and eukaryotes; role of epigenetic modifications in gene regulation; molecular basis of development and evolution; modification and modulation of gene expression and exploitation of gene regulation, he added.



Prof. Miglani further told that for the benefit of the readers, special emphasis, in this book, has been given on recent progresses, applications/implications of various discoveries, nobel prize winning work, and glossary of important terms. This book will also be useful for the national and international level competitive examinations, entrance tests, and interviews, he said. The book has been published by Narosa Publishing House Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, and its international edition is being simultaneously brought out by Alpha Science International, UK, he informed.
