For the cause of promotion of sports at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), the PAU Golf Club, Ludhiana donated a sum of Rs.3,58,475/- to the PAU Endowment Fund for sports. A cheque of the said amount was presented to the PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Baldev Singh Dhillon, today by Mr. Hari Singh Sandhu, Secretary of the Club and other members namely Mr. T.S.Sandhu and Brig. Jagdev Singh. Others who were present included the Registrar, Dr. R.K.Mahey, Director Students Welfare, Dr. D.S.Cheema and Additional Director of Communication, Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman.
Thanking Mr. Sandhu for this gesture, Dr. Dhillon said that PAU Endowment Fund is getting contribution from various quarters. The interest income of the account is to be utilized for sports and other co-curricular activities in the University, he said. Dr. Mahey said that the PAU Board of Management at its 254th meeting held on March 30 had approved the establishment of \'PAU Endowment Fund for Sports\'.
Dr. Cheema said that with support from others in the Endowment Fund, the sports will get a boost at PAU.
