PAU TRAINING FOR FARMERS, FARM WOMEN AND PROGRESSIVE BEEKEEPERS

LUDHIANA, JUNE 30:-----

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will organize two training courses for farmers, farm women and members of Progressive Beekeepers Association (PBKA). On July 3-4, PAU Directorate of Extension Education in association with Department of Microbiology and Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, Chandigarh, will hold a two-day training course on "Preparation of natural vinegar from fruits and non-alcoholic carbonated beverages" for farmers and farm women at PAU Kairon Kisan Ghar (KKG).



Giving course contours, Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, said that the experts will lay special emphasis on the preparation of natural vinegar and non-alcoholic carbonated beverages from grapes and other fruit juices in addition to their futuristic aspects, economics, scope and significance.



Besides, a state level training-cum-workshop for the PBKA members will take place on July 4 at KKG of the university, informed Dr Gill. The subject-matter specialists will deliberate on honey bee management in rainy season and feeding management of honey bees, he added. Apart from review of last meeting/activities, an interactive session will be held wherein the queries of the participants will be responded by the experts. The registration for both the courses will take place at 9.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. on July 3 and 4, respectively, at the scheduled venue, he told.



Meanwhile, Mr PPS Pangli, President of PAU Kisan Club, said a monthly training camp for the club members including women wing will be held on July 5 in place of July 2. The camp for the male members and women wing will take place at Dr Borlaug Wheat Auditorium and Food and Nutrition lab of the PAU College of Home Science, respectively.
