Not Ash, Bebo was the first choice for \'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam\'

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' was one of the biggest hits of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This film has firmed her foot in Bollywood but few know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was not the first choice of the movie. Aishwarya has indeed step into the role of Kareena Kapoor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants Kareena to play the lead role but things did not work out then.



Kareena is happy to team up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Ram Leela' opposite Ranveer Singh. "He (Bhansali) and I have wanted to work together for a long time now. And yes, he had offered me Hum Dil De… but at that time I was too young. Plus, I was also going abroad for higher studies. So I couldn't take up that offer. Then Bajirao Mastani came up, but unfortunately that also didn't work out. But look at my luck, eventually I had to be the Sanjay Leela Bhansali heroine," says Bebo.



After wrapping up 'Heroine', she will start shooting for 'Ram Leela'. "For an actor, such films are landmarks. I am looking forward to working with Ranveer too. He was fantastic in Band Baaja Baarat," Kareena says.



When Bebo was asked about her wedding to Saif, she preferred to keep silence."But I won't talk about it at all. Otherwise, I like press conferences because journalists come up with interesting questions. But I answer only those questions that interest me," she says with a smile.



4 Remember Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)? The film went on to become one of Ash's biggest hits but not many know that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to rope in a very young Kareena Kapoor for the role. Things didn't work out then,



When asked about Zoya and her film opposite cousin Ranbir Kapoor, the actress said, "I love Zoya. She is a fantastic director. We have talked about certain subjects but nothing is confirmed right now. I share a great rapport with her," says Bebo.
