The Campus of Government College for Women, Ludhiana dazzled with colours and Fresher\'s Day Celebrations. The senior students of the institute organized a cultural show to welcome the new comers. Mrs. Vijay Dhanda was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Principal Mrs. Gurminder Kaur accorded a warm welcome to the worthy guest.
The cultural extravaganza comprising Welcome Dance, Modern Dances and Punjabi Geet captivated the audience and lent colours to the celebrations. The hallmark of the day was Miss Fresher Contest in which nearly 50 students actively took part. The stage came alive as the contestants sashayed down the ramp in scintillating attires. There were three question-answer rounds. Miss Megha was declared Miss Fresher whereas Miss Rupinder and Miss Saroya were adjudged first and second runner-up respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Dhanda appreciated the efforts put in by the staff and students and congratulated the winners for their success. The judges for the Miss Fresher Contest were Mrs. Sudarshan Mehta (Vice Principal), Mrs. Rani Harinder, Miss Harsimran Kaur. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur (Incharge Students\' Council) proposed vote of Thanks.
