Dr. Surjit Singh, working as Senior Extension Specialist (Agronomy) has been honoured with the fellowship of Indian Society of Weed Science for the year 2008-09. The award was presented to Dr. Singh during the National Symposium on Integrated Weed Management at New Delhi. In addition the books published by PAU scientists, namely, \'Weed Management\' by Dr. U.S.Walia and \'Identification of Weeds and their Control Measures\' by Dr. Surjit Singh and Dr. U.S.Walia were also awarded. Dr. (Mrs.) Mandeep Kaur and Dr. Amandeep Singh Brar of Department of Agronomy were awarded first and third prize for doctoral thesis, respectively. Dr. Manjit Singh Kang, Vice-Chancellor, PAU congratulated the scientists and students for the honour they received.
