INNOVATION, FOCUS AND STRONG LEADERSHIP: KEY TO MAXIMIZING GROWTH

Personal Trust, Self Confidence, Self Belief, intolerance to mediocrity, Strong Focused Passion, Creating Discontinuous Innovation, strong leadership Traits are the important factors which help business organizations in maximizing the growth opportunities in this highly competitive and dynamic business environment said Mr. Vinod Sawhny, Executive Director and CEO, Beetel, Teletech Limited. Mr. Vinod Sawhny was addressing the members of Ludhiana Management Association on the topic "Maximizing Growth Opportunities" on Wednesday at hotel Majestic Park Plaza. Mr. V.K.Goyal, President, Ludhiana Management Association, Dr K.N.S.Kang, General Secretary LMA, dignitaries from the business field, members of the association were also present on the occasion.

Dr. K.N.S.Kang, General Secretary Ludhiana Management Association said that business organizations need to have strong vision and focused approach, if they want to be the best in the market. He said that today companies are focusing on increasing productivity by adding value at every step of the business operation. He further said that India has huge potential in the form of talent, resources and opportunities, therefore leaders in India need strategic focus, determination, ability to visualize the future and strong willpower to maximize the profits. Dr Kang emphasized that to be leader we need to create healthy environment within and outside the organizations, so that people feel free to express and perform. Dr Kang said that we need to channelize the energies within and outside the organizations in such a way that we are in a position to get the maximum benefit from the opportunities existing in the environment.

Mr. Vinod Sawhny while addressing the members of Ludhiana Management Association said that we have to be running all the time if we want to be at the top. He said that it is not only about up float but it's about leading and fulfilling your life by maximizing opportunities. Mr. Vinod said that first thing we require is congruence in our goals in what you are at work and what you are at home. He highly advocated that we must belief in what we are, have self confidence and trust to create momentum. Personal consistency, group behavior and Zest for Quest are required in every individual, if we really want to maximize the opportunities.

Mr. Vinod also said that we need to select industry and business in which certain growth is seen. Stagnant business cannot progress in long run, he said. He further said as a leader you need to demonstrate traits that create, articulate and own the Vision. He emphasized that there should be zero level Intolerance to mediocrity. Environment should be created where mediocre people got opportunity to rise in life. This can be done in the organization by creating Interdependence among the functions and people. We have to ensure that sensation is created in the market to in tolerate mediocrity. He further said that focus and passion at work is the most important factor to maximize the growth. We need to celebrate small achievements and try to break affordable barriers to maximize.

Mr. Vinod strongly advocated the concept of bringing Innovation and creativity not only in the products we produce, but also in systems, processes and methods. He said that we should create discontinuous Innovation to be leaders and grab the opportunity at right time. He also emphasized that we should raise standard of people by Crismatic leadership.

Mr. V.K. Goyal, President, Ludhiana Management Association while giving his presidential remarks said that to maximize the opportunities we need to energies people with whom you work, irrespective of their position in the organization. He said that child like behavior should be encouraged to get best out of people. He also supported the fact that creativity and innovation in this world leads the organizations to great heights. He further said that people should be treated and encouraged to perform beyond potential which in turn will benefit whole organization. Strong and effective Execution of systems and policies is required at operational levels to get maximize the growth opportunities said Mr.Goyal.
