HEAVY RUSH FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES AT PAU

LUDHIANA, JUNE 14:



The Agriculture Aptitude Test 2013 was conducted at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today for admission to B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) six-year programme. Dr B. S. Sohal, Controller of Examination, PAU, informed that the entrance test received an overwhelming response and there was a huge rush of students from across the state. Out of 1720 applicants, as many as 1649 candidates including 1370 boys and 279 girls appeared for the test, he told, saying that eight centres were set-up in the PAU campus to accommodate the candidates. The students are competing for only 70 seats of the B.Sc Agriculture (Hons.) six-year programme, which include 50 at PAU campus and 20 at the Institute ofAgriculture, Gurdaspur, he said. According to Dr. H.S. Dhaliwal, Dean Collage of Agriculture, the programme is becoming very popular amongst the rural boys and that the eligibility for appearing in this test is of matric standard. The Dean visited different examination centres and had on the spot view of the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the test.
