TRAINING FOR FARM WOMEN, RURAL YOUTH AND TREE GROWERS AT PAU

LUDHIANA, MAY 30:-----



A two-day training course on "Methods for Control of Household Pests" began here today at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The course, organized by the PAU Directorate of Extension Education, involves the participation of farm women and rural youth.



Giving details, Dr M.S. Gill, Director of Extension Education, said that the PAU experts of Family Resource Management, Entomology and Clothing and Textiles will impart eco-friendly anti-pests tips for pest free home in addition to the tips for safe use of commercial pesticides. Besides, the trainees will be apprised of management of insect-pests of stored grains, natural way of disinfecting clothes and accessories and preparation of eco-friendly home cleaners. He told that an interactive session will also take place wherein all the queries of the participants will be responded by the experts.



Meanwhile, a training camp for the PAU Tree Growers Association will be held on May 30 at Farmers' Service Centre of the university, informed Dr Gill. During the camp, the PAU subject-matter specialists of Forestry and Natural Resources will dwell upon the care of forest trees during the summer season. Apart from this, the review of activities of last month meeting will also be discussed. Dr Gill said that the registration for the camp will take place at 10.00 a.m. at the scheduled place.
