The Jodhewal police on Sunday arrested three persons for illegal refilling and black marketing of LPG gas cylinders. The police also recovered 37 cylinders from them.
Jodhewal Police raided a house in New Shakti Nagar and three accused refilling cylinders were caught red- handed.
Basti Jodhewal SHO Gurpreet Singh said that the accused used to shift the gas from filled cylinders to empty cylinders. They also used to fill LPG-run cars illegally.
The police have recovered 37 commercial, domestic and mini-gas cylinders of various gas companies, two computerised weighing machines, a gas shifting machine and other pieces of equipment from the accused.
The accused have been identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of New Shakti Nagar, Parveen Kumar, a resident of Noorwala Road, and Radhe Krishan Gupta, a resident of Noorwala Road.
A case has been registered against the accused at Jodhewal police station under Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act. Later, a court remanded them in two-day police custody.
