PAU STUDENTS CLINCH NINE MEDALS AT PUNJAB STATE INTER-VARSITY YOUTH FEST

LUDHIANA, MARCH 25:



The students of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have brought laurels to the University by clinching nine medals at the Punjab State Inter University Youth Festival, organized by the Directorate of Youth Services, Government of Punjab, from March 19 -21 at Shivalik Public School, Mohali. The PAU won gold medal in poster making, and bronze medals in skit, mime, folk song, poetic recitation, collage making, cartooning, clay modeling, and gidhha events.



The PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon and Director Students' Welfare, Dr Balwinder Singh congratulated the students for winning laurels at the state level youth fest and exhorted them to maintain this rich tradition.



Giving details, Mr Satvir Singh, Welfare Officer, PAU, said that all the universities of the Punjab state participated in this festival. The PAU contingent, consisting of 40 members, participated in the events of music, theatre, literary and Fine arts, he informed.



Recently, the PAU students clinched gold, silver and bronze medals at the 13th All India Inter-Agricultural University Youth Festival, he highlighted. The fest was organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidhayala, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh). During the 13th All India Inter-Agri Varsity Youth Fest, the PAU teams of mime (group) and patriotic song (group) bagged the gold medals, while the group song (Indian) team won the silver medal. The debate and cartooning teams bagged bronze medals, he told, adding that the PAU clinched overall trophy in music event also.
