LUDHIANA, JULY 30:-
According to the Department of Entomology of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), the attack of whitefly on cotton has been observed in Abohar area. Dr. Balwinder Singh, Head, Entomology, PAU, has advised the farmers to visit their cotton fields twice a week before 10 a.m. and record the populations of whitefly from three fully opened leaves from top canopy. If the population of whitefly reached six whiteflies per leaf (ETL), the crop should be sprayed with 600 ml Sutathion 40 EC (Triazophos) or 800 ml Fosmite/E-mite/Volthion 50 EC (Ethion) by using 125-150 litres of water per acre, he suggested. For further queries, the entomology experts can be contacted at phone no. 0161-2401960/Ext. (320).
