Goat Farmers Association formed at GADVASU

Ludhiana, April 17, 2013

A meeting of Goat Farmers Association was held in Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana under the guidance of Dr. JS Bhatti, HoD, which was attended by 20 goat farmers from Punjab. Scientists of GADVASU delivered technical lectures on different aspects of goat production. Dr. Chanderahas informed about management of stall fed goat production. Dr. MP Gupta disseminated information about worm infestation and their prevention in sheep and goat. Dr. Shakruti Sharma shared important aspects about control of infectious abortion in goats. Dr. HK Verma shared his views on reproduction of goats. Dr. Bhatti said that the monthly seminar for member farmers of Goat Farmers Association will be organized on 1st Friday of every month. He requested all the goat farmers to participate regularly in this seminar to get technical information on different aspects of goat farming. The association unanimously selected Col. Paramjeet Singh Gill of Vill. Chugwan, Distt. Moga as President, Sh. Karaminder Singh Sidhu Distt. Gurdaspur as Vice President, Sh. Kulwant Singh Vill. Bagrari, Distt. Faridkot as Secretary, Sh. Gurmukh Singh Vill. Mahal Kalan, Distt. Barnala as Joint Secretary and Sh. Manwinderjeet Singh Vill. Shahkot, Distt. Janalandhar as Treasurer.

Dr. MP Gupta, Coordinator of Association informed that goat farmers can register their names at phone no. 0161-2414005 to get trainings.
