Veteran actor Pran discharged from hospital, stable

MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 25, 2012





Veteran actor Pran , who was admitted to Mumbai Lilavati hospital following breathing problem, was discharged from hospital on Saturday. Pran, 92, is stated to be stable and is doing fine.



Pran, who established his image as Bollywood\'s quintessential villain in movies like Brahmachari and then worked in a variety of films like Zanjeer, Karz and Don, was admitted to the hospital a day after Diwali.



After investigation, it was found that he suffered from pneumonia. He has two sons Arvind and Sunil and a daughter Pinky.



According to reports, his daughter Pinky Bhalla stated that he was back home and in perfect health now. Pran , who stayed in the hospital for eight days, was rushed to the hospital, after he complained of weakness.



Lilavati hospital spokesperson Dr Sudhir Dagaokar reportedly said, \"He was admitted to Lilavati hospital last Friday. He had come for a check-up which turned out to be a respiratory problem. He is doing fine and still in hospital. Nothing to worry.\"



The veteran Bollywood actor has acted in around 350 Bollywood films. His most popular films include \'Khandaan\', \'Aurat\', \'Bari Behen\', \'Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai\', \'Half Ticket\', \'Upkar\', \'Purab Aur Paschim\', \'Don\' and \'Zanjeer\'.



In 2001, the legendary actor was honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian film industry. He also won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 1967, 1969 and 1972 besides receiving the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.



While he was in hospital, Amitabh Bachchan and many Bollywood celebrities paid a visit to him.
