Smashers go one up

Monday, Aug 26, 2013(7star news):-In the battle of the bottom-placed teams, it was Banga Beats who started on a winning note against Krrish Delhi Smashers. Banga Beats' icon player Parupalli Kashyap lived up to his status and got the better of B Sai Praneeth to give the home team a 1-0 lead. The highest-ranked Indian among men broke little sweat to beat his 55th-ranked compatriot 21-15 21-11.

However, Delhi pulled one back immediately with their Thai World No. 15 Nichaon Jindapon, who beat Spain's Carolina Marin 21-17 15-21 11-9 and later took the lead when their men's doubles pair of Keat and Hoeng won against Mogensen and Dewalkar.

The Kashyap-Sai game started on a tardy note with both the players dithering to go on the attack immediately.

The players traded points for some time with Praneeth just a point ahead by the end of the first break, the pace of the game caught on after the break as both the players preferred to give longer rallies a go.

Kashyap was happy taking stock of his opponent while playing on the offensive for most part. It served him well as as his opponent gave away seven points on a platter as Kashyap raced to a healthy lead at 14-7.

Praneeth succumbed to a string of unforced errors midway into the game as he faltered at the nets and failed to retrieve the older player's powerful smashes.

He then went on to win four points but they were not enough as his senior opponent was way ahead.
