\'BSP MP Dhananjay\'s wife Jagriti used to beat maid and accused her of having an illicit relationship with her husband\'

A team of doctors on Friday conducted a post-mortem examination on Rakhi, the 35-year-old maid who was allegedly beaten to death by BSP MP Dhananjay Singh\'s doctor wife Jagriti Singh at their South Avenue residence in the Capital.

The autopsy was performed at Lady Hardinge Medical College hospital and the final report is expected in a couple of days. Sources, however, said the initial report suggested Rakhi had died because of the injuries on her body apparently caused by the beating.

The Delhi Police has, meanwhile, sought the school and birth certificates of another domestic help who is a complainant in the case, to determine his age. \" We have sent a team to Varanasi to get the certificates to confirm whether he is a juvenile,\" a police officer said.

Besides, a team of police is also trying to nab Dev Kumar, who is suspected to be in Kolkata. Kumar is the placement consultant who reportedly brought Rakhi and the other maid Meena to Delhi. The police said that during investigation it has been found that Kumar was nabbed in 2011 for running a fake placement agency in south Delhi. \" It might be possible that he is the same Dev Kumar but we are not sure,\" the officer said.

The police are also looking at human trafficking angle in the case as the deceased was a Bangladeshi citizen who lived with her family in North 24 Parganas district.

Dr. Jagriti Singh (29) was declared medically fit in her papers submitted in RML Hospital where she was working as a senior resident dental surgeon. Both Jagriti and her husband, are currently in police custody till November 11.

Revealing about the behaviour of Jagriti, Meena Sardar, one of the domestic helps, said in her statement to the police that Jagriti would brutally beat her and accuse her of having an illicit relationship with the MP. Meena was found with a broken hand and burns marks all over her body.

Rakhi\'s son Shehjan, in his 20s, who arrived in Delhi from Kolkata on Thursday, has reportedly gone missing. Official sources confirmed that he was last seen in the Chanakyapuri police station on Thursday afternoon. He went for lunch but did not return. Both his cellphones are also switched off, sources said.
