Jagan slams Cong at rally

Over two lakh people attended Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy\'s public meeting for \'United Andhra\' at L B Stadium on Saturday even as pro-Telangana groups questioned the government\'s decision to give permission to hold such a meeting in Hyderabad.

This was the first time that a political party held such a massive public meeting in the state capital against the decision to divide the state.

The Kadapa MP attacked the Congress and alleged that the state was divided for the benefit of a few Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.

In a vitriolic attack on Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Jagan Mohan said that the fight for a united state will continue till New Delhi stops its divisive tactics, and called upon all national parties to join the fight as the same injustice could happen in any state.

\"Without considering the consequences, Congress has divided the state. Seemandhra is going to be devoid of water. There is no clarity on water and resource sharing but the Congress is in a hurry to break the state for its gains. Educational institutions and employment opportunities have been created only in Hyderabad....We cannot become pawns in the games of someone sitting in Delhi,\'\' he said.

Touching on the issue of Seemandhra people being asked to go away from Hyderabad, he asked, \"Will Sonia Gandhi be prepared to go back to Italy if a Bill is passed that all persons who acquired citizenship should return to their native land.\'\'

While the LB stadium was packed with over 60,000 people, thousands more gathered outside on the roads, watching the proceedings live on screens. A majority of the people arrived from Coastal and Rayalaseema districts in the last two days and camped in the city.
